A bit about me

I have always had a passion for design and events. Self-taught, I was determined to make this the career path for me. By starting in high school, and leading teams to create numerous charity galas, sports awards and musicals, I felt event production was my next natural step. But everyone has to start somewhere.

I started freelancing with Tay FM during high school, becoming a member of their street team and leading customer facing activations and interactions. From College open days to Bonfire nights my job was to engage with the public and highlight that specific event.

Meanwhile I developed my design skills. I created all social media and web content for Ecosse Motorcycles at the same time as managing their Aftersales department within their Dundee Honda store. During this time I also created advertisement videos showcasing new bike models and lines of clothing.

During covid, this developed further, where I started to create music videos for Drag Queens up and down the country, some of whom went to compete in Rupaul’s Drag Race UK. Just something easy to pass the time :) (some of these can be found in the 2022 tab).

Coming out of the pandemic, I knew that I had to move on from Aftersales at Ecosse. I wanted to continue down the path of events. So I decided to go freelance in June of 2021.

Starting on the Royal Highland Showcase, A temporary solution for the Royal Highland Show following COVID, I joined Rogue City Productions in delivering the new RHSTV Streaming program.

I continued my freelance work for a further year, working on events like the Edinburgh International Festival 2021, COP 26, Wondrous Woods, a second Royal Highland Show, Edinburgh Cocktail week and so much more. All these events taught me vital skills for this industry. How to manage clients. How production works. What level of detail corporate events require. All good practises to have.

In January 2023, I got offered a full time position at Rogue City Productions. Starting as an Event Coordinator and then promoted to Event Producer where I have designed experiences for high profile clients and agencies, Site plans and festivals and activations for brands and companies. This position gave me the chance to prove myself, learn new skills and progress my career. I learnt Vectorworks, a CAD based design software where I now design all my events. From 3D Renders of stages and installs, to 2D site plans and technical drawings. This developed and enabled me to design my 3rd, 4th and now 5th Royal Highland Show.

Some other recent career highlights so far has been designing the Natwest Manchester Pride float, Producing St James’ Quarter Edinburgh Style Event, and Opening UNIQLO’s new Edinburgh Princes Street Store.

Natwest at Manchester Pride taught me so much in my abilities as an event producer. From the initial meeting with the client, I designed, sourced, manufactured and produced every aspect of the event. I created 3D renders for each step of the design process and ensured that the original vision was turned into a reality.

Edinburgh Style was an amazing event to be a part of. Working with YourGB, and their client St James Quarter (SJQ), I designed and project managed the main stage for this fashion show. A custom backdrop with a striking “Y” featured as the main door way. Leading the team, we created an impressive lighting display highlighting the catwalk and the stage, that could then also be used as a talk and workshop space throughout the day. This lead to more exciting events with YourGB x Rogue, as well as a very happy SJQ Client.

And finally, UNIQLO. 2 events that led to the opening of their first Scottish store. We started with SS24. A presentation for all the new clothing lines the brand had to offer. This then was followed 3 months later with their Opening celebrations. For both of these events, I lead as Project manager, organising my team, as well as numerous suppliers and contractors to create new and exciting aspects to these traditional events. From a 15m video wall, to a mochi cart and quintet band - these events had it all!

That’s us all caught up! Career wise anyway.

In my personal life, I enjoy playing the piano, spending time in the countryside with my family and dogs, and experimenting in the kitchen. I also love traveling and am always eager to explore new places. I also find riding my motorbike a thrilling way to experience freedom and adventure.
